With its proud color-block livery, NASA Atlantis takes up the optimism of the early 1990s and celebrates the first Italian astronaut to enter the history of space exploration. Thirty years after Franco Malerba's historic mission aboard the Space Shuttle Atlantis, the world is experiencing the dawn of a new era of space exploration. Montegrappa recalls a period of great international scientific activity, offering precision design and performance in a wide range of writing modes. Sharp lines and intense colors refer to the feeling of hope and amazement aroused by NASA's 30-year Space Shuttle program, a project that defined an era and ended in 2011 with the last flight of Atlantis. Following its retirement in 1992, NASA's "Worm" logo saw its popularity grow more and more. After being recalled to service in 2020, it returns to occupy a place of honor in our design thanks to the bright red enamel. Graphics reproducing the launch and launch pad of the Shuttle are engraved with high precision on the small parts of this handcrafted model.
